COVID-19: Steps we are taking

In response to COVID-19 we are taking extra steps in our sanitizing processes that we already have instituted. This includes extra sanitizing in our washing machines, sanitizing door handles at your home or place of business, sanitizing and washing hands and sanitizing equipment more frequently than we already do.

If any of our employees are sick or have been exposed to someone sick they will not be coming into work.

We have let our customers know they should tell us if they would like us to sanitize additional areas that are not normally on their work orders. This is a great idea as this greatly helps reduce the spread of germs!

We hope our community gets through this soon and we would like to remind everyone to help each other out more! WE need each other.

And remember to go outside and get some fresh air!

What is in a Deep Home Cleaning?!

What can Asheville Cleaning Company do for your home when it has not been cleaned by professional cleaners in a while and you are due or wayyyyy over-due for a deep clean? First, know we can handle it. Everyone at Asheville Cleaning Company has been trained for almost all messes and we have seen a lot of them. We start high and get rid of cob webs and high dust that is lingering up there and as we move lower and get those pesky wall marks and window smudges. We get into the cracks and crevices where dirt has been collecting as you walk by; corners, thresholds and that weird areas of wall under your cabinets that meets the floor. (It is crazy how much this removal of hidden dirt helps the smell of your home, especially in those older Asheville homes!). We clean the baseboards (sometimes making them look freshly painted!) and we sanitize high traffic areas. We will clean under rugs and under cushions and we will use a delicious essential oil that will linger (in a lovely way) and refresh you upon walking in the door!
Our team here at Asheville Cleaning Company can really make that large of a difference while performing a deep home cleaning for you! Spring is a great time to have a deep clean in your home as well as a deep cleaning in the beginning of winter-when you are about to close up your windows for a while!

Disinfecting your home during flu season

During this time of year we are inside a lot, the windows are closed, we are carrying germs around our home and office more, air is’t flowing as well and it can get a bit stuffy. This is a good time of year to get your home disinfected with our natural, non-toxic cleaners that kill bacteria, viruses, mildew and mold. We can include spraying and wiping door knobs, banisters, remote controls and things that are touched frequently. Also a good wiping down of all surfaces and thorough vacuuming can help with the air quality. There is nothing like coming home and smelling the essential oils we use in the air and seeing and feeling the difference after a good cleaning! Get in touch with us to schedule a disinfecting clean. Mention this blog and receive 10% off!

Does using non-toxic cleaning solutions really make a difference?

When you go to the store, be it Target or your local grocery store, you will likely see row after row of single-use bottles and cleaning products inside that are not exactly healthy to breathe in. Why are these products sold and used so often? Because it makes it easy on the consumer when cleaning their home (instead of non-toxic which takes a little more elbow grease) to spray something on, let it do the work and just wipe away.

If you ask anyone who has switched over from using toxic materials to using materials like vinegar, baking soda, essential oils, homemade all-purpose solutions, etc. they will tell you they felt a lot better during and after cleaning. These toxic cleaning solutions are not only harmful to your body but they go down the drain and into the soil. Your pets also inhale them at no fault of their own.

Our cleaners, who clean several homes and businesses per week, would be miserable if we used toxic products. So, while they make the cleaning job easier and faster, it is just not worth it.

In addition, if we did not use re-usable bottles, it is hard to fathom how how many bottles would have had to be tossed away by now!! We re-use our rags and mop covers and sanitize them after each use and then re-circulate them. Our all-purpose cleaner is made from completely natural materials (that we get from a local small business).

It is great to see that most cleaning companies have switched over to green practices and non-toxic supplies. I encourage anyone to do the same in the products the use in their homes. It will make a huge difference to your health and well-being.
